High Heels and Firepower

Rose M Barron and Denise King (a collaboration photography project) High Heels and Fire Power Statement These photographic narratives involves an investigation of the stereotypes prevalent in our modern society. Utilizing both the study of Ethnology and Art history, the images created are derived from experiencing that part of our culture as a participant observer. As artists projecting selves through these images we use gender, sexuality, and culture to explore the present in a humorous approach. By drawing influences from our own life and pop culture compositions we reference Atlanta in a simpler time. The images assembled depict our personal view and experience of being a woman in the south challenging the viewer and their personal ideologies.
