The images from my "Figurative" collection contain a certain sensuality. Gender issues are also addressed. The models are usually friends or people that I have a close relationship with. In some images I portray myself. I feel that the work takes on more of a personal view done in this manner.
Working from an art background, I have always studied the nude form. I have drawn, painted, and sculpted the human form. I find using photography to portray the nude is very interesting. Perceptions and feelings may be changed by use of different types of lighting or different angles.
This series is part of a body of work for me, examining and conveying the soul and sensuality of form and figure. I expect viewers to react differently by the nude being done through a woman's view versus a man's.
